Low Noon: Dust and Debris 30"X40" Acrylic
To Be Featured in, American Ideals: Midwestern Farm
During the harvest there are few moments of rest. Work must be done at a steady pace until all is finished. But there are brief moments of respite during these long days. They come at the end of each row. The combine raises its blades as dust and debris fills the air. This moment has stuck with me throughout the years. It is brief, but repetitious. Giant wheels turn the machine down a parallel path from which it came. Then the blades lower and go about their business.  A mighty production occurs until that briefest of moments is mirrored at the opposite end of the field, over and over again.
